Did you know that many businesses offer a matching gift program as part of their employee benefits package? That means once you’ve donated to Bird Rock Foundation, there’s a chance that your employer will match your donation dollar for dollar!

 

Bird Rock Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and therefore eligible to receive corporate matching from companies that provide such programs to their employees. What are employee matching gift programs?

Employee matching gift programs are corporate giving programs in which a company matches donations made by employees to eligible nonprofit (501(c)(3)) organizations. 

 

Does my employer have a corporate matching program?

Check with your Human Resources Department. If they don’t have one, urge them to start one. You may also search your employer here.

 

How do I request a matching gift?

Requesting a matching gift is normally a quick process that must be initiated by the donor. You can do this through an electronic submission process or by filling out and submitting a paper match form provided by your employer.

 

When should I request a matching gift?

You should request your corporate match as soon as you plan to make your donation. Some companies distribute corporate matching funds right away, while others process them quarterly. Other companies have strict timelines for employees to submit their applications. If your company offers corporate matching, please submit your request right away.

 

What if the Bird Rock Foundation isn’t on my company’s list? 

It’s possible that the Bird Rock Foundation can be added to your company’s list of eligible organizations for corporate matching.  You’ll need the following information:
